COLTS FINISH THIRD OTA PRACTICE

The Colts finished the third of 10 OTA practices Wednesday under cloudy skies and in windy conditions. Players and coaches keep working hard with the aim of laying a foundation for mini-camp and training camp.

Ryan Grigson made it a near-weekly practice last year to bolster the back end of the playing roster as the Colts pushed to an 11-5 finish. This year’s aggressive approach by Grigson provides a different bit of help as the Colts have their most seasoned backup quarterback in 12 years.

Josh Chapman spent the 2012 season recovering from a knee injury incurred at Alabama. Unable to play as a rookie, Chapman now is healed and is running with the first unit as OTAs start on Monday.

Bjoern Werner impressed Colts coaches over the weekend with his mental and athletic ability. The 24th overall pick in the draft was on full display during the club’s rookie camp and that he would prosper would be nothing new to Jimbo Fisher.
