A coach like Chuck Pagano has known since his childhood the importance of teamwork and communication. Over the weekend, he stepped into a different arena and has a deeper appreciation for those two necessities in competition.

Josh Chapman spent the 2012 season recovering from a knee injury incurred at Alabama. Unable to play as a rookie, Chapman now is healed and is running with the first unit as OTAs start on Monday.

Another checkpoint in the off-season has passed as the Colts put 37 players through a Friday-through-Sunday rookie camp. The second year of the Ryan Grigson-Chuck Pagano regime found a different nature from the 2012 camp, but it was just as productive and important.

The most effective coaches are communicators, leaders who know what to touch in a player to create performance. Chuck Pagano, Greg Manusky and Pep Hamilton want results, and getting them consistently from grown men is the mission.
