July 16, 2007: We are pleased to announce that over 350,000 users worldwide are relying on Web Security Guard to help minimize the possibility of virus, spyware or spam infections on their computers. Web Security Guard enhances a user's computer security while browsing or searching the Internet by assigning a security status to thousands of Internet websites and displaying a website's threat status before a user visits the website.
Only two months after its release, Web Security Guard reached its first 100,000 installations in May 2007. Since then over a quarter million new installations have been added and the number of website reviews in its security database has doubled. These numbers indicate that Web Security Guard has many users who actively participate in sharing their experience about various websites with other users.
To improve the current process of users rating websites, Web Security Guard 1.5 beta version will enable reviews to be published under the user's name or nickname. The option of anonymously posting a website review will remain. We look forward to announcing this new feature along with more language versions of Web Security Guard soon.
